We've been waking before dawn on Market Street since 2014, mixing dough by hand and baking on the stone hearth our grandfather would recognise.
Bramble is a family bakery in the truest sense — three generations in one kitchen, flour on our sleeves, and a stubborn belief that good bread takes time. Our sourdough starter, named "Hattie", has been bubbling away in the same earthenware crock for over a decade.
Everything we bake starts with organic stoneground flour from a mill just twenty miles down the dale. No improvers, no shortcuts — just flour, water, salt, and patience. We shape every loaf by hand and sell out most days by lunch.
Bread comes out of the oven from 6 am. Loaves are freshest in the morning.
Larger orders and wholesale bread can be collected outside opening hours by arrangement. Give us a call the day before and we'll have it wrapped and ready on the counter.
You'll find our blue door halfway down Market Street, just round the corner from the square.
